Apple recently introduced the 2021 iPad and iPad mini models. Now, the company seems to have turned its focus to redesigning the Magic Keyboard accessory. Earlier this year, the technology company introduced the iPad Pro device with the M1 chip. At this point, the tablet adopted mini LED technology, which offers a resolution of 2732×2048 pixels.
The 12.9-inch version of the iPad Pro is 0.5mm thicker, so it’s not compatible with the older Magic Keyboard. At this point, there is a thought that the current generation Magic Keyboard design has changed by Apple. In addition, the new patent application includes an iPad Pro case.
Apple changes Magic Keyboard design with new patent application
iPad Pro’s existing Magic Keyboard accessory allows the tablet to sit above the keyboard when in the standard position. In addition, its hinge allows users to adjust the position of the device. In a recently filed patent, the Magic Keyboard welcomes the iPad on several hinges located at the top end of the keyboard.
The patent filed by Apple shows that the Magic Keyboard accessory will slide forward with the iPad. At this point, users get a better viewing angle.
Patent will allow us to use iPad like laptop
Just below the keyboard is another layer that allows users to use the iPad like a laptop. The patent filed by Apple reveals that it will offer a design with better possible viewing angle adjustability. It also guarantees that the new design will increase system stability even at higher viewing angles.
Patent indicates that the new model design will support opening and closing like a laptop. In addition, the company promises that it will be lighter in weight. At this point, affordable components will be in use.
Hinge mechanism same as current generation
The new design adopts the same hinge mechanism as the current generation Magic Keyboard. In addition, even if Apple applies for a patent, it may not make the product and release it. When we look at the past, we see that some technology companies take such patents and do not use them in their products.
