Netflix wants to know more about the tastes of its subscribers and brings a new feature for it.
The streaming giant already gives its customers the chance to rate the shows and movies they watch to help its algorithm offer future recommendations. But previously this was limited to two binary options “like” and “dislike”. Now, the publisher is adding more options to “Love This” as well.
Currently, the feature appears to be only available on desktop, and Netflix’s guides do not include any details about the feature’s rollout.
Netflix frequently tests new features and is usually pretty transparent about it. The company regularly publishes blog posts about it.
As for why Netflix needs to know that you ‘love’ something… The streaming giant is increasingly producing its own content. It’s certainly important to know if these productions are working and if the audience wants to see more.
