Arene project, which Toyota has been working on for the last few years, has finally come to an end. Toyota will power advanced vehicle features with its operating system called Arene OS.
In today’s cars, software updates can be done remotely. Toyota’s operating system move follows pioneer Tesla, the first company to produce software-based vehicles that support OTA updates.
Toyota will use the Arene OS operating system in vehicles in 2025
The company plans to embed the Arene OS operating system in its vehicles by 2025. Toyota also says it will open Arene to other developers and encourage companies outside the industry to create apps for autonomous driving and other functions. The company believes that as more users and developers join, Arene will become a more robust platform and generate more valuable data that can be used to build new services.
After launch on Toyota models by 2025, the automaker will make the software available to its partners, including Subaru. The new operating system will also be shared with startups and other technology companies working on electric and driverless vehicles.
Established to expand the company’s operations, Toyota’s Woven Planet Group is in the initial product development phase for Arene Apex. Partnered with AI. apex. AI emerges as a company that develops scalable software solutions for vehicles.
The Arene ecosystem will include a developer-friendly suite of tools and features to rapidly develop and prototype advanced vehicle capabilities such as autonomous driving. Engineers will be able to develop for the operating system without waiting for new hardware, and cloud integration will allow various teams to work remotely as well as in parallel.
Arene OS will control key vehicle systems including steering, braking and acceleration. It will also be able to manage vehicle security systems, including location and live traffic information. All vehicles with an operating system installed will have access to shared functions, regardless of make or model.
