Opel introduced its new station wagon car, the Astra Sports Tourer. The new version will be the company’s first station wagon model with an electric power unit, with a plug-in hybrid version with two different power levels.
New Opel Astra Sports Tourer features
The power range of the engine options of the New Astra Sports Tourer, which will be presented to the buyer with gasoline and diesel engine options, will vary between 110 HP (81 kW) and 130 HP (96 kW) in gasoline and diesel engines. Electric rechargeable hybrid versions, on the other hand, will see 225 HP (165 kW).
A six-speed gearbox will be standard on petrol and diesel engines, while an eight-speed automatic transmission (electric on rechargeable hybrid versions) will be offered as an option on more powerful engines.
4. With dimensions of 642 x 1,860 x 1,480 millimeters (L x W x H) and a loading sill height of approximately 600 mm, the new Astra Sports Tourer will provide a trunk volume of over 608 liters with the rear seat backrests in an upright position. With the rear seat backrests folded, this volume will increase to over 1,634 liters.
When the standard three-piece seat backrests are folded down, a completely flat loading floor will be provided. Rechargeable hybrid versions, on the other hand, will have a luggage volume of 548 liters and over 1,574 liters.
The new Astra Sports Tourer will draw attention with the sharp curve of the hood and the wing-shaped design of the daytime running lights. The Visor, which completely covers the front, will come with technologies such as adaptive Intelli-Lux LED Pixel headlights and front camera.
Of course, there will be significant changes in the interior as well. The all-digital Pure Panel human-machine interface (HMI) will promise an intuitive experience to individuals in the vehicle. Operation will take place via a large touch screen, just like smartphones. Some settings, such as climate control, can be controlled with just a few buttons.
One of the most striking features of the new Astra Sports Tourer is its technology that detects when the driver takes his hands off the steering wheel. With this technology, the vehicle will allow the driver to focus actively on the steering wheel at all times. The vehicle, which is also assertive about driving comfort, will offer ergonomic front seats with the AGR (Healthy Backs Campaign) developed by the company. These seats will have numerous adjustments, from electric backrest to electro-pneumatic lumbar support.
