The 2000s were not online focused as they are now, they were the years of story games with a linear structure. One of the most popular of these games was definitely Mafia. The bar was raised with the second game of the Mafia series, the first game of which has a throne in the hearts of many veteran players. Unfortunately, the third game of the series could not carry the name of the brand. Trying to be a GTA copy, Mafia 3 disappointed all Mafia fans.
However, last year, Hangar 13 studio and publisher 2K Games, the producer of the game, managed to win back the hearts of fans with Mafia Definitive Edition. Roman Hladik, one of the developers of the game, gave the news that will excite the fans they have won their hearts with in a recent interview.
The development of the new Mafia game has been officially confirmed!
As the 20th year of the Mafia series is left behind, a long-term interview was held with the game’s developers Roman Hladík and Tomáš Hřebíček. You can read the entire interview here, but the part that interests us the most is just an answer to a question.
When asked a question about how the Mafia developers will shape the future of the Mafia franchise, Roman Hladík gives this exact answer:
“I am happy to confirm that we are embarking on a brand new Mafia project! The project has a few more years and we can’t share more than that right now. We are very excited to work on this beloved series and to delight our players with new stories.”
So a brand new Mafia game is on the way, friends. Of course, as you can see, there is no explanation about who this game will be about.
