With the iPhone 15 models, Apple is finally leaving Lightning on their phones and switching to USB-C. It is said that the braided cable will come out of the iPhone 15 box and will be longer than normal. Now, Apple researcher Majin Bu has shared additional details regarding the cable for the new iPhones.

iPhone 15 USB-C cable may be limited to USB 2.0 speeds

According to the information given, the iPhone 15 USB-C cable will be 1.6 meters long, thicker and more durable. Apple will keep the same USB 2.0 data transfer rates as Lightning. USB 2.0 transfer rates are limited to 480Mbps. Of course, the model shown may be the flat iPhone 15 model. iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models can provide higher speed data transfer. Pro models may come with USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 support.

According to the data provided by Majon Bu, the iPhone 15 USB-C cable will not have the MFi (Made for iPhone) restriction as previously said.
