Mobile World Congress (MWC) is being held in Barcelona this year. One of the agendas at the event was 6G technology. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Jessica Rosenworcel made a statement on the subject in a keynote speech today.
Rosenworcel: “It is not too early to make 6G globally compatible”
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Jessica Rosenworcel made important statements regarding 6G technology. In his speech, Roseworcel emphasized the need to pave the way for the next generation 6g cellular technology. The Chairman of the FCC included the following words in his statement.
It’s not too early to harmonize these efforts worldwide, as this is how we will ensure this new generation reaches everyone, everywhere. It is critical that the FCC and carriers begin to determine the required midband spectrum now. We must not forget the lessons we have learned with the millimeter wave spectrum and 5G. While this range has a lot of room to deploy, it doesn’t go very far, but it’s currently quite costly to deploy.
While the whole world has just met with 5G, the spread of a possible 6G technology to the whole world does not seem realistic yet. But, according to Roseworcel, the groundwork for this technology is ready. So much so that many technology companies have already started to carry out R&D studies on this subject. But according to many industry experts, it will take 2030 for 6G technology to become compatible all over the world.
In the summer of last year, FCC President Jessica Rosenworcel established an FCC Technological Advisory Council. The primary target of the formation was the developments related to 6G. Because Rosenworcel wants to make sure everything is ready when the groundwork for this technology is laid. So much so that with the right planning, she wants to avoid the problems experienced in the development of 5G.
