The Game Awards are one of the events that gamers look forward to with great excitement, with brand new content offered by game developers, sharing from games and announcements about new games. This year’s event will be more full and action-packed compared to previous years.
In the past years, there have been many criticisms regarding the duration of the event. For this reason, this year’s event is planned to be shorter. Geoff Keighley, who will be hosting the event this year, attended a Q&A on Reddit. He made some important statements at this event.
Time shortened, action increased
Keighley said that this year’s event will feature less big games. This indicates that new game announcements will likely belong to AA or smaller independent productions. It will not be an event where we see many giant games together as in the past.
Stating that they shortened the broadcast time, Keighley stated that there will still be some great announcements. Adding that some game studios around the world are preparing for this show, Keighley announced that we will see new content from 30-40 games in this year’s show.
This year’s Game Awards will find their owners with an event to be held at 2 am on Friday, December 9th. Many awards will compete to be the best of the year in different categories. Many productions such as God of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West, and Stray will try to receive awards this year. The winners will be determined by the votes of the gamers.
