Announcing that it has canceled a total of 3 new games with its announcement in the past days, Ubisoft also delayed the long-awaited Skull and Bones, as well as this decision. The game, which was previously said to be released on March 9, 2023, was postponed to the end of 2023 without giving an exact date. Now, Ubisoft has released a new gameplay video from Skull and Bones.

Skull and Bones’ new gameplay video has been released!

Delayed for the sixth time in total, Skull and Bones was first introduced at the E3 show in 2017. Narrative director Joel Jannise, who said it would be beneficial for the game to be delayed again, accompanies us throughout the entire 33-minute video. In the video we see a brother and sister following a trail and both believing they are the true heirs of a small kingdom.

Jannise used the following statements in this video:

“The player is going after the trail that he thinks might be interesting and possibly turn into a treasure or score. But it also tells a story about our groups and our world, and we can do this by, for example, messages in empty bottles, pages from lost diaries, or sometimes talking to different people around the world.”

The action seen in the video starts with looting a local settlement and this is the part where many players are uncomfortable. After you get a little closer to the settlement to loot, you press the loot button that appears, and you start to collide with other ships in a limited area. There is also a timer that shows your progress.

Another aspect that players criticize in Skull and Bones is sailing. Ship mechanics, one of the most basic elements of the game, do not feel realistic enough. According to the players, the ships appear light and massless above the sea and do not react to the water.

The Skull and Bones system requirements are as follows:

Minimum:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Video Card: GTX 1060(6GB) or RX 570(4GB)
  • Storage: 65GB SSD
  • Operating System: Windows 10 / Windows 11

Suggested:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Video Card: RTX 2070(8GB) or RX 5700 XT(8GB)
  • Storage: 65GB SSD
  • Operating System: Windows 10 / Windows 11
