A new gameplay video for Gran Turismo 7, announced by Son in 2020 and expected to be released in March next year, has been released. The video, announced via Gran Turismo’s official social media account, heralded the return of Deep Forest, one of the important tracks of the series.
Gran Turismo 7 returns the series to its roots
Gran Turismo’s official social media accounts have confirmed that the series’ classic ‘Gran Turismo Deep Forest Raceway’ will be returning to the series with Gran Turismo 7. The new video, released under the title Starting Point, will be two of seven short videos detailing various aspects of the GT7’s design and philosophy.

Deep Forest isn’t the only track coming back for Gran Turismo 7. The first track shown when the GT7 was announced in September 2020 was a modified version of Trial Mountain, and we’ve also seen a slightly modified version of the High Speed Ring in other videos released. Some differences are expected for GT7 in Deep Forest as well.
The new video released today shows a full tour of the new design of the Deep Forest circuit. Although the new version of the track looks very familiar, there is a radical change that fans of the series will notice.
In the video, we follow the Lamborghini Murcielago from the cockpit camera and there is a hard braking zone on a narrow left bend. What we do not know yet and cannot understand from this video is where in the world Deep Forest will take place… There is a location where all other GT7 tracks, real and fictional, take place in the game world in reality. In this sense, we will have to wait until March 2022 to see what Deep Forest represents.
