iOS 18 could be AI-driven
iOS 18 will be available to all users next year with some pretty nifty features. According to The Information, the company is preparing generative AI technologies that will be integrated into a wide variety of aspects of the platform. It seems that artificial intelligence will be the main focus. According to the report, iOS 18 will make Siri much smarter with the use of language models. Currently, Siri is only useful for basic tasks like setting alarms, opening apps, and more. Mostly it is not used.
According to reports, Siri in iOS 18 will be able to understand and automate complex multi-step commands. To be fair, iOS 16 and iOS 17 already have a Shortcuts app that can automate tasks designed specifically for a user. However, the whole process of setting up commands and actions is quite cumbersome. In iOS 18, Siri can perform multiple steps in the background and present actions or results using nothing but your voice. For example, the virtual assistant will be able to combine multiple photos to create a GIF and send it to a friend.
It is stated that Apple will integrate productive artificial intelligence language models into iOS 18 next year. The company may add some functions to the iPhone 16 series. However, the new Siri is also likely to be available on all iOS 18 compatible devices. The new Siri can be considered Apple’s answer to Google Assistant and its potential integration with Bard in the future. In our previous news, we mentioned that Apple focuses on artificial intelligence. This information seems to support each other.
