New features added to Windows 11 as of today:
Tabbed File Explorer
File Explorer now supports tabs. The redesigned interface will help organize files and make it easier to switch between folders. There is also a new section on the File Explorer home screen where PC owners can pin the files they use the most.
Suggested Actions
The Suggested Actions functionality included with Windows 11 is designed to anticipate your needs and give you suggestions for actions you might want to take. For example, when you select a phone number or date, the operating system will immediately suggest making a call using Skype or scheduling an event on the calendar.
Taskbar updated
Microsoft has also updated the Taskbar in the operating system. Now when there’s no room for shortcuts, the Taskbar will give you an entry point that lets you view any overflowing apps in the additional menu. Also, when you right-click on the panel, you will see an option to switch directly to the Task Manager in addition to the Taskbar Settings.
File sharing has been improved
Improved the Windows Share experience in the operating system. This feature will allow you to discover more available devices to which you can send files directly from your desktop, File Explorer, Photos, Snipping Tool, Xbox and other apps.
Photos app
The Photos app gains the Memories experience, which includes a selection of old photos from OneDrive, and the ability to access photos on iPhone through iCloud integration. However, this will require installing the iCloud for Windows app.
Amazon Appstore is getting popular
Microsoft continues to expand the availability of Amazon AppStore in Windows 11. It is now available to download Android apps from 31 countries and offers a catalog of more than 50,000 apps.
If you want to install the update immediately, you can download it manually from Windows Update. New features and experiences will be available to all Windows 11 2022 (version 22H2) users as part of a cumulative update to be released on November 8, 2022.
