The popular messaging application of Meta, WhatsApp, the number of people accessing via web browsers has increased considerably since last year. Considering this change, WhatsApp started to look for ways to bring additional layers of security to WhatsApp Web and started working with Code Verify. Code Verify is partnering with web infrastructure and security company Cloudflare to provide WhatsApp Web users with independent, third-party, transparent code verification.

WhatsApp Web code verification feature works ?
Code Verify has announced a new browser extension aimed at improving the security of the web version of WhatsApp. The extension works by verifying that the content of the web version of WhatsApp has not been altered. This makes it much more difficult for a potential attacker to steal data or compromise the privacy of messages when using WhatsApp Web.
When WhatsApp Web is launched, the extension creates a copy of the code received by the browser and maps it to the WhatsApp Web copy. If the code matches, the icon in the browser will turn green and WhatsApp Web will work fine.
If the orange icon is encountered, it may mean that another browser extension is interfering with Code Verify’s ability to verify WhatsApp Web, or the page may need to be refreshed because the request timed out.
If there is a problem, the red icon will appear. In this case, people can do things like pause other extensions, switch to the WhatsApp mobile app, or download the source code for a third-party organization to analyze.
