About a year ago, Instagram launched a new feature that closely concerns all its users. With this feature called ‘Sensitive Content Control’, the user has left the choice of seeing or not seeing sensitive content on the Discover page of the platform. There has been another news about the feature that has only worked on the Discover page until today.

Instagram announced in its new announcement that the Sensitive Content Control feature will now work across the app, not just the Discover page. Thus, users can choose not to encounter sensitive content on the Discover page, as well as on search, reels, hashtags, ‘accounts you can follow’ and suggested posts appearing in the stream.

Feature will be released for all users in a few weeks:

According to Instagram statement, Sensitive Content Moderation will be slow for users over the coming weeks. will be published slowly. Users will have three options to limit sensitive content. With “Allow” sensitive content will be visible, with “Restrict” some of these content will be visible, and with “Restrict More” option, all content will be hidden.

Users who want to activate the ‘Allow’ option in the feature will need to be users over the age of 18. Users under the age of 18 will not have this feature and sensitive content will be automatically filtered by Instagram. Instagram defines the sensitive content in question as follows:

“You may think of sensitive content as content that does not violate our rules, but is annoying and upsetting for some people. Obscene or violent posts are an example of this.”
