TikTok, the most popular social media application of recent times, is getting much more useful with its new post pinning feature, which is probably only for content producers. The short video craze that entered our lives with Vine began to appeal to a much larger audience with the TikTok platform.
TikTok is among the most used social media platforms with short fun videos of 15 seconds. The platform, which faced the threat of banning during the period of former US President Donald Trump, has been banned in India for more than a year.
How will TikTok post pinning feature be used?
Although TikTok is not the first to share short videos, it is the most important social media platform that has spread this trend all over the world. TikTok, which is especially popular among the Z generation, seeks to increase this popularity even more with its new feature.
TikTok allows users to pin the posts they want to the profile with the newly emerged post pinning feature. Thus, followers will have the opportunity to access popular posts of content producers more easily.
According to the resulting screenshot, the post pin feature has been activated in beta on Amnesty International’s TikTok account. It is not yet clear whether this feature will only be available for content producers with high user numbers.
One of the biggest question marks for TikTok post pinning feature is how many posts can be pinned. Because the first reactions from TikTok users are that it is enough to have a single post fixed. However, two posts are pinned in the screenshot. In this sense, it is a matter of curiosity how long this fixation limit extends. Finally, the platform announced its feature that blocks offensive content in searches.
The social media platform has 689 million users according to the latest figures. Douyin, the Chinese version of the platform, follows TikTok with 600 million active users. In this sense, the two platforms are just below Instagram with a total of around 1.2 billion active users.
In fact, TikTok was on its way to becoming the most used social media application after Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp all over the world. The platform, which reached 323 million users before it was banned in India, is still making a great effort to remove this ban. Finally, the Chinese version of the application, Douyin, imposed a time limit on children under the age of 14 in China.
