WhatsApp continues to work on new features that improve the user experience. Finally, there is a similar step for status updates on the platform, which has expanded the ability to react with emoji. According to the information leaked by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started working on audio statuses.
WhatsApp is working on audio status updates
An important innovation has been detected for status updates, which are frequently used on the platform, in the version 2.22.16.3 offered by WhatsApp within the scope of Google Play Beta Program. Accordingly, the platform started working to add voice note support to situations. We even see that the microphone button has been added to the bottom of the status tab in the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo.
Apart from that, it should be noted that the voice memos will only be shared with the people selected in the status privacy settings, and the added voice states will be protected with end-to-end encryption just like other pictures and videos.
Since the new function is under development, there is not the slightest information on when it will be available to beta users. However, as with other features, a timeline is expected to follow. On the other hand, it only covers the Android application for now.
The feature of reacting with emoji, which WhatsApp users have been eagerly waiting for, has finally expanded. With the last update, the platform will provide an environment for reacting with more emojis by clicking the “+” icon positioned next to the emojis that were previously limited to 6.
