The first Kona with full EV design!

The brand describes the Kona model as an entry segment crossover model. Introduced in 2017, Kona has undergone 1 makeover in its 6-year period on the market. He won in an electric unit right after his make-up in 2020. With this new unit, it became a fully electric car. But it wasn’t a full-fledged EV from the design part to the production part.

Hyundai made a new move for Kona after the Ioniq 5 model it introduced. In order for the Kona magnificence in the eyes of the customer not to fade next to the Ioniq 5, Kona has been completely renewed and turned into a full-range EV. Thus ended the first generation of 6 years old and the era of the second generation began with the new electric Kona.

According to the first information from the brand, Kona has increased its range capacity by having a renewed battery unit. The new electric Kona has a range of 490 km. It is also stated that this range can reach around 550 km according to the conditions of use. To increase the range, Kona will offer its users economical driving modes.

There are new updates in the single pedal drive version “i-Pedal”. Although there is no complete information on the subject, it is stated that there are innovations that will increase driving comfort and range economy. It is also said that with this new update, the current range capacity will be exceeded.

When we come to the charging time, the charging time is not as short as the Ioniq 5. The brand states that the battery will reach from 10% to 80% charge level in 41 minutes in the most efficient way for the new electric Kona. The Ioniq 5, on the other hand, can reach this level in a much shorter time with its 800V system.

In interior design, a more spacious living space than the previous generation Kona welcomes us. However, we can say that the brand has managed to offer a slightly wider area than other crossovers in the entry segment. It is stated that this rate has been achieved thanks to the small footprint of the new electric motor.

Hyundai has stated that the new electric Kona will additionally be available in internal combustion-only and hybrid versions. It will be on sale in the US towards the end of the year. What do you think about the new electric Kona? We are waiting your comments!
