READING NOW New details came from Apple’s M3 family: 40-core GPU is on the way
The standard M3 processor will have the same core array
Mark Gurman, known for his sources close to Apple, shared the details of the new M3 chipsets in Bloomberg’s Power On corner. According to the information received, the entire M3 family will be produced in TSMC’s 3nm fabrication process. Thus, this series will offer significant performance and efficiency gains over the previous generation. Apart from that, Gurman also talked about the core numbers of the M3 family.
M3 Pro and M3 Max’s core counts will increase
The M3 Pro, which is expected to be used in MacBook Pro and Mac mini, will have some improvements. Gurman states that the starting model of this chip will have a 12-core (8 performance + 4 efficiency) CPU and an 18-core GPU. The maximum amount of RAM the product will support is not clear. In addition, according to the claims, the M3 Pro will also be used on the 14-inch iPad Pro device.
The standard model M3 will likely be unveiled at an event before the end of this year and will power the next-generation MacBook Air and iMac models. M3 Pro and M3 Max processors are expected to be introduced in the middle of next year. There is not enough information about the M3 Ultra yet.
