Tesla, one of the most powerful names in the electric car world, attracts great attention from its phenomenon CEO with its powerfully equipped vehicles. The company comes to the fore from time to time with its successes as well as its problems. Finally, Tesla is awash with the data leak event.
Tesla says the data leak incident was caused by an insider
Tesla suffered a data breach earlier this year that affected 75,735 people. First, the Handelsblatt newspaper revealed a news that 100 GB of data was leaked from Tesla. Today, Tesla admitted that there was a data leak and said that it was due to an insider.
The statement included the following:
While we have not identified evidence of data misuse in a way that could harm you, we are still providing you with this notice to ensure you are aware of what has happened and the actions we have taken. Earlier this year, a Tesla data leak incident affecting more than 75,000 people was caused by “insider wrongdoing.”
The first leak made by Tesla employees is not limited to this. A claim that emerged last April was the kind that made you say “no more”. As it is known, Tesla vehicles have an in-car camera to make it easier to use and increase the experience. According to the claim, Tesla employees shared the images recorded in the car in various channels, especially between 2019 and 2022.
The post also includes the words of a former employee. Allegedly, the images are also shared in chat rooms. In the shared content, there are many images from accident moments to private moments of people. Tesla has not yet issued a statement on this matter. However, the “Customer Privacy Notice” states that the footage will remain anonymous and not affiliated with the company.
