Tesla was on the agenda with a new investigation. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into thousands of new Tesla vehicles due to reports of loss of steering control and power steering. Here are the details of the investigation!
Steering wheel locks on Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles!
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has scrutinized the automaker Tesla many times. One of them was the steering problem that happened the other day. NHTSA said it received many complaints claiming loss of steering control and power steering on Tesla vehicles.
Five people among the complaints claimed that they could not steer the vehicle, while the rest stated that the loss of power caused difficulties in steering control. All these problems can lead to many negative consequences, especially in traffic.
The allegations in question occurred in Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. After complaints, a driver in Virginia stated that the problems started two weeks after the Tesla Performance Model 3 was delivered on June 15. He also used the following words in his statement:
“Today while driving and turning left, the steering wheel locked and displayed the error code stating that the steering assist was disabled. The steering wheel is locked and the car code disappears when you get off and on again. “
After these complaints, investigators will examine how often the problem occurs and the share of production processes in the problem. It also marks the fifth investigation NHTSA has launched into Tesla vehicles in the past three years.
