Supercharge stations developed by Tesla for electric vehicles are very popular in the electric vehicle world. The pilot program was expanded so that these charging stations can also be used by non-Tesla vehicles.

In this context, the Non-Tesla Supercharger Pilot program, which was previously valid at certain stations in the Netherlands, Norway and France, is now available in the UK, Spain, Sweden, Belgium and Austria.

It is possible to use Supercharger without Tesla

Non-Tesla electric vehicle owners in Belgium and Germany could only benefit from this service when traveling to a country where Superchargers are available. With Belgium’s inclusion in the program, a strange situation has arisen: Electric vehicle owners in Germany can use Tesla Supercharge stations abroad, but not domestically.

One of the biggest problems in charging stations is different connections. The vast majority of Tesla models and Superchargers in North America do not use the CCS2 standard that all EVs in Europe (including Tesla) support, instead using Tesla’s proprietary charging plug.

Worse still, other electric vehicles in North America often have CCS1 connectivity. Vehicles like the Nissan Leaf make things even more complicated by relying on the CHAdeMO standard. Elon Musk, who wants to expand this charging program in the USA, finally made a statement for different connections.

Musk said in an interview with the Financial Times last week that they plan to add standardized connectors used by other electric vehicles to US Supercharger stations.

If you live in one of the pilot countries, you can use the Tesla app to use the network and quickly charge your electric vehicle even if you are not using Tesla. It is stated that additional fees can be obtained from vehicles other than Tesla for electricity.
