The communication technology via satellite, which Apple has developed behind closed doors for a long time, may appear this year. Sources state that Apple has started testing the new technology at the prototype level.
iPhone 14 satellite system
It was Steve Jobs’ dream to apply a different communication model to iPhone models, apart from WiFi and cellular connectivity. Continuing this dream, Tim Cook established a special team in 2019 and started the project with the code name Stewie.
iPhone 14 will use a more efficient modem
It is claimed that the technology that can communicate via satellite has reached the prototype stage. Satellite communication, which will minimize dependency on operators, can be encountered in the iPhone 14 series, at least in Pro versions.
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models, which will be equipped with Apple’s A16 Bionic, will also have satellite communication feature. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max using the Apple A15 Bionic will not offer this technology.
Other claims about the iPhone 14 are listed as LPDDR4 for the standard series, LPDDR5 RAM memory for the Pro series, and a slightly longer screen size for the Pro series.
