The iPhone SE, which Apple first launched in 2016, attracted attention from customers as it was a more affordable iPhone. So far, we’ve seen three generations of the device come out, with the last one in 2022. It was unclear when the fourth one would arrive.
Claims made by Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O’Malley revealed that the device will not arrive in 2024, contrary to expectations. Analysts put forward this claim after speaking with supply companies in Asia.
iPhone SE 4 may not arrive before 2025
Allegedly, the phone is not expected to arrive before 2025. Analysts state that the device will include a 5G modem belonging to Apple, while adding that the company’s modem is not ready yet. It has been known since 2018 that Apple is planning its own modem.
In this context, the technology giant purchased Intel’s smartphone modem unit in 2019. However, according to current rumors, the modem will not catch up. Instead, it is stated that the company is likely to continue working with Qualcomm on the iPhone 16 and the new iPhone SE.
In the past months, a few information has emerged about the fourth generation iPhone SE, which has turned into Arabic hair and was even said to have been canceled for a while. Famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the phone could come with a design similar to the standard iPhone 14, with features such as a 6.1-inch OLED display, flat edges and Face ID.
The new information supports recent rumors. Earlier, Kuo and other trusted analysts also stated that the device is not expected to be introduced before 2025.
