Gurman states in the Power On news release that the new Mac Pro will come with processor options “at least two or four times more powerful” than the unreleased M2 Max. These processors are also said to be called M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme.
M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme will be very powerful
Gurman also shares a Mac Pro configuration that he says is currently being tested at Apple. It is reported that the device under test has 24 CPU cores, 76 GPU cores and 192 GB of memory, and runs on macOS Ventura 13.3, the first version of which was released on Monday.
Apple last launched the Mac Pro for $5,999 in 2019, so the latest Mac Pro could be priced similarly or higher. However, before the next Mac Pro launches, new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M2 Pro and M2 Max options, Mac Mini with M2 processors, MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro models will hit the shelves.
