Netflix is changing the way it measures and determines the ratings it shares with people. The new metering system will be based on the total hours viewed per production and how many users watched the first two minutes of any production.
Moreover, Netflix has launched a new site where we can access the TOP 10 lists in every country in the world. The streaming giant has a brand new website, Top10. Netflix. com launched. In this way, viewers can easily see how many watched the most watched, whether worldwide or on a country basis.

In a statement about com and the new measurement system, he said: “Every Tuesday, we publish four global Top 10 lists for movies and TV: Film (English), TV (English), Film (Non-English) and TV (Non-English). “Absurd”. “Bunk”. “Tweezed”. “Uncontrolled”. We’ve had a lot of feedback on our measurements over the years. That’s why we’ve started from scratch on measurement this summer, and we’re excited to launch our “Netflix Top 10” website today. This is a new website with weekly listings of the most popular content on Netflix by country and world.
We’ll be posting our new “Netflix Top 10” lists for both original and licensed content every Tuesday. Lists will be prepared based on watch hours from the previous Monday to Sunday. The site will feature global Top 10 listings for English-language movies, English-language TV shows, non-English movies, and non-English TV shows. There will also be “internal rankings” for more than 90 countries. We currently have the website available in English and Spanish, but we will add more language options next year.
These weekly lists are in addition to the daily country-based Top 10 lines we launched on Netflix last year. These lines will now be based on watch time, as in our Top 10 site. So whether you’re browsing the Netflix Top 10 or browsing content directly on our service, it’s easy to see what other people are watching the most.

We know that you are also curious about our most popular movies and TV series of all time. We’ll also be updating our all-time public lists, which we first released last month, as new content has been a huge hit recently. These lists are based on the total hours watched in the first 28 days following a content’s release on Netflix.

Determining how best to measure the success of streaming services is a difficult task. Moreover, there is no single perfect measurement in this regard. Traditional metrics such as box office revenue or audience share, designed to help advertisers understand the success of linear television broadcasts, are not applicable to most streamers, including Netflix. Examining the different options, we believe that viewer interest, measured by watch time, is a strong indicator of a content’s popularity and overall member satisfaction. General satisfaction is an important factor in ensuring the continuity of subscribers in subscription services. In addition, watch time follows a similar path to other popularity measurement methods used in the industry. It takes into account replay, which is a strong sign of member satisfaction, and is consistently measurable across different companies.
However, in addition to these advantages, we are also aware that longer viewing hours are favored by longer TV series and movies. We will also occasionally publish special lists, as capturing the finer details of different types of entertainment with a single measurement method is a difficult task. For example, we will prepare lists for the best documentary films or reality shows that our members love but do not find a place on these lists. Some people will ask why we don’t measure the number of people who watch a TV show or movie until the end. While watching a 10-hour series, you may miss the end of an episode or a surprise scene after the credits begin. For example, your baby may have cried at that time. . . Or, instead of watching the whole movie, you can choose to watch a certain scene over and over again. So, even if you haven’t watched a piece of content to the end, we think it’s important to take into account all the hours you’ve watched.
But fun has never been measured that way. Does missing a track hidden in the credits mean you didn’t watch the movie until the end? We also think it’s important to count rewatches, as many people often return to a particular scene or episode rather than rewatch the entire content from start to finish. We also think that even if someone misses the end of an episode in a 10-hour series (whether it’s a crying baby or getting close to the person next to you while watching Netflix), over nine hours of viewing still needs to be factored in for that content.
This is an important step for Netflix and for the creators and members we work with. People want to understand what success means in the world of broadcasting, and these lists offer the clearest answer to this question in our industry. But most of all, we hope our new Netflix Top 10 lists will help fans discover new stories and engage in new conversations. Whether you’re looking to understand your friend’s newfound passion for chess, the value of a win, or where people’s curiosity for kittens comes from, these lists will come in handy.
