The latest data prepared by the mobile application research platform Apptopia revealed the status of the games offered under Netflix Games. The games offered on Android and iOS have been downloaded 23.3 million times in total. This represents less than 1 percent of users.
With Netflix Games, which was launched in November last year and grew by acquiring new studios, interactive games of series and movies on the platform are being developed. Among the most notable productions are Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Exploding Kittens, the chess game inspired by The Queen’s Gambit.
Although Netflix is increasing its investments in this area, it does not seem to have managed to attract the attention of mobile players. The research showed that all games offered with Netflix Games were downloaded 23.3 million times and reached an average of 1.7 million daily users.
It is still unclear why Netflix users do not show interest in the games. However, it was noteworthy that the number of downloads remained around 23 million, although there were no advertisements in the games and no extra fees were charged.
Netflix has announced that it aims to add 50 games to its library by the end of 2022. The company, which recently announced four new games, also bought three additional studios.
