Earlier this week, popular TV series and movie platform Netflix made an update on its official website on how to prevent users who do not live in the same house from sharing accounts, but this information was promptly removed from the site.

Netflix made an official statement for the first time after this interesting event. In an interview with The Guardian platform, Netflix officials announced that they ‘accidentally’ published this plan on the global site.

“We will only deploy this system in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru for the time being”

According to Netflix officials, this method of blocking password sharing was only to be activated in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru, but due to a ‘mistake’ it was shared on the information page of its global site.

According to the information shared by Netflix, the user who shares the password of an account has to connect to the home Wi-Fi network of the person to whom the account belongs every 31 days. Otherwise, access to Netflix may be restricted.

As we said, this system will only be valid in 3 countries for now. We know Netflix will release this policy globally, but we don’t know when. At least for now, we can say that we are safe…
