Netflix is waking up
According to the information received, Netflix gained 2.41 million net subscribers in the third quarter of the year and exceeded expectations. The total number of subscribers was 223 million. New subscribers came mostly from the Asia Pacific region. The US-Canada experienced the smallest growth. Revenues were $7.93 billion, up 5.9 percent year on year.
For the fourth quarter of the year, the company expects another 4.5 million subscribers. It is estimated that the new subscription with ads will come to the fore here, as it will not contribute much in terms of income, but it will work in terms of promoting the platform and encouraging the transition to other subscriptions. It is also expected that password sharing will be prevented and the application of additional user quota to the subscription will become widespread.
