The Addams family adaptation Wednesday, which started airing in November, took the internet by storm and became one of Netflix’s most successful productions to date. The 8-episode series focused on the adventures of Wednesday Addams, the daughter of the Addams family, at Nevermore Academy.
It was also eagerly awaited when the second season of the popular TV series directed by Tim Burton would be approved. Today, the expected came true and Netflix announced that Wednesday has been confirmed for a second season by sharing a 55-second announcement video from their official accounts.
Here is Wednesday’s second season announcement
Wednesday, which influenced the whole world by breaking records such as being the most watched English series in the first week of Netflix, was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, while Tim Burton undertook the directorship of all four episodes and the creator of the series. Jenna Ortega played the lead role as Wednesday Addams, while Gwendoline Christie, Emma Myers, Christina Ricci, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joy Sunday, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan were also in the cast of the series.
Recently, rumors emerged that the series could be transferred to Amazon due to the sale of media giant Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) to Amazon. Netflix has made statements showing that this will not happen. Today’s second season announcement also officially confirmed that the series will continue to stay on Netflix.
There’s no word yet on when Wednesday’s second season will debut. But given that it hasn’t started yet, we can predict that the second season will not arrive before 2024.
