Nearby Share for Windows is out of beta
Nearby Share has been installed on more than 1.7 million users’ devices, and more than 50 million file transfers have been made. Nearby Share for Windows is out of beta and its stable version is available to all users.
The stable version of the program has two new features that are not in the beta version. The first is to show the estimated file transfer time. Useful when sending large files such as videos or folders, to see how long it will take to complete the transfer. Second, showing the type of the sent file and the location to save it. Showing a preview of the image inside the notification as in AirDrop; You can see which file you are transferring.
Google has also started working with some manufacturers to include Nearby Share on Windows PCs. Nearby Share requires 64-bit version of Windows 10 and newer operating system, ARM is not supported. Bluetooth and WiFi or Ethernet connection must be active on both devices and the distance between devices must be 5 meters. You can download Nearby Share for Windows here.
