The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) successfully landed the Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter on Mars for exploration in February of last year. As part of the Mars Exploration Program, the rover, who will collect rock and sediment samples on the Red Planet and search for signs of ancient microscopic life, encounters interesting findings from time to time.

Perseverance found a mysterious bundle of string on Mars

The Perseverance rover, continuing its mission to Mars, came across an interesting finding during its mission. NASA discovered a bundle of strings while exploring an area the rover had never been to before. According to NASA, this thread is not a natural formation.

The image was captured by Perseverance’s left front camera as it performed its mission in Jezero Crater. NASA argued that the rope was knotted, unnatural, and ran a possibility. Although the agency speculated that the rope may have fallen out during the installation of Perseverance, it could not confirm.

However, the fact that the traveler has never been to the region where the rope is located gives some thought to this possibility. Although the mystery of the rope remains, NASA thinks it may have gone there with a strong wind. On the other hand, this is not my first interesting item the traveler found.

In recent weeks, Perseverance has found a litter on the surface of Mars. NASA’s Mars team stated that the debris was closely examined in a post on Twitter. In a short time, the fate of the incident became clear. The litter turned out to be a piece of thermal blanket wrapped around NASA’s Perseverance spacecraft to protect it from extreme weather changes as it lands on Mars.
