Textile giant Shein’s new bikini model was shared by NASA. In the post made from the Twitter account of the US space agency, a pink bikini advertisement was included. NASA fixed this error without wasting too much time, but could not avoid falling into the language of social media.
Things got messy when NASA shared a photo of a model in a bikini
NASA seems to have turned its radar to the textile world after the cancellation of the Moon Rocket SLS launch recently. The US space agency aroused curiosity when it quoted an article by Bloomberg for Shein.
According to the news in Futurism, NASA’s quoting the bikini post prepared by Bloomberg became the agenda on social media. The situation, noticed by Ars Technica editor Eric Berger, also brought up the question of whether the NASA account was hacked.
In the statement in NASA’s bikini model post, “Fast fashion giant Shein sees a valuation of 100 billion dollars and is moving its teeth to more US customers”. NASA did not neglect to remove this tweet, which it accidentally quoted, in a short time.
It is not yet known why NASA made such a post, but it is thought that the wrong article was quoted. The space agency was also intrigued by the fact that it did not make a correction statement about the deleted post.
This post of NASA has become the subject of entertainment among users on social media. In response to Berger’s tweet, one user said, “The social media manager forgot to switch accounts.”
It’s extremely common for social media managers to deal with multiple accounts or clients at the same time. To share posts or respond to customers across different accounts requires switching accounts dozens of times. In the last NASA example, it is possible that a minor mistake was made during this transition.
