NASA has solved the mystery of the skeleton-like object on Mars!

Curiosity, which was sent to Mars by NASA in 2011, has been continuing its exploration and research studies since its landing on the Red Planet. In this context, we can say that Mars photographs taken from Curiosity witness many mysteries and conspiracy theories. Now, NASA has clarified the mystery of the “bone”-like object, which is especially on the agenda on social media and displayed on Mars.

NASA solves mystery of skeleton imaged on Mars

As you can see below, the new image from Mars’ 154-kilometer-long Gale Crater was captured using Curiosity’s instrument, which consists of a laser, camera and spectrograph (ChemCam). However, this time the photo was cropped by zooming in a few times. Afterwards, it was shared on social media by giving the impression of a life-size skeleton.

Andrew Good of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California said: “The origins of strangely shaped rocks date back to the ancient past, when liquid water often seeped through cracks in the rock and brought minerals along with it. These minerals were harder than the rocks around them, so the wind would have everything but the minerals. It eroded things.” uttered his words.

Also, the new photo isn’t the first mysterious image shared by NASA. An eerie portal was discovered on the Red Planet last year that has led some to imagine a secret base or portal hidden beneath the surface of Mars. This mystery was described as the space between two rocks, similar to the new images.
