NASA has released an exciting cinematic video after announcing the launch date (target date) of the first rocket for the Artemis 1 mission.

When will Artemis 1 be launched?
The Artemis 1 mission, scheduled to take place as soon as August 29, will usher in a new era of manned space exploration, where astronauts will set foot on the moon again after a 50-year hiatus. NASA’s Artemis I mission also aims to establish a sustainable life on the Moon.
In NASA’s video Artemis: Launching to the Moon, we see the powerful Space Launch System (SLS) rocket launching the Orion capsule into space. NASA states that the Artemis I will be the first integrated test of NASA’s deep space exploration systems—the Orion spacecraft, the SLS rocket, and the ground system at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Uncrewed flight test
The Artemis 1 mission will be an uncrewed flight test as well as the first in a series of increasingly complex missions that will be the foundation for deep space exploration to take the human presence to the Moon and beyond.
It will be the longest-flying spacecraft
The long-awaited Artemis 1 is designed to travel thousands of miles beyond the Moon and 280,000 miles from Earth during its six-week mission. It will fly far more than any spacecraft we’ve seen so far.
If Artemis I performs as expected with the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft during its mission, Artemis 2 targeted for 2024 will also fly on the same route.
