NASA’s OSIRIS-REX, which was initiated in 2016, was officially completed with the return of the capsule to Earth in September 2023. The vehicle had traveled 6.2 billion km in this process and brought examples from Bennu, a close asteroid. These examples were expected to provide information about our solar system and planets about 4.5 billion years ago.

Now, after the OSIRIS-REX mission, an explanation was made about the investigations. Compared to NASA, examples showed that in our solar system, it offers clues about how life has started.

Researchers reached these results, from 14 amino acids and 5 nucleobazs found in life forms in the world. In addition, high levels of ammonia and formaldehyde were revealed. These two can form complex molecules for amino acid when combined under appropriate conditions.
