On March 3, people raised their heads to the sky and saw pieces of meat raining down on them. Everyone was in a rush, asking each other, “What’s going on here?” He looked like he said. An area approximately 100 meters long and 50 meters wide was filled with pieces of meat. For some it was deer, for some it was veal, for some it was bear, for some it was chicken… This event, which is almost like a movie scenario, may remind you of the movie ‘A Chance of Meatballs’.
However, even though decades have passed since the real meat rain incident, there is still no evidence or reason that we can call ‘conclusive’. Still, there are very interesting theories about it. Let’s see which of these theories will resonate with you the most?
Some say it’s bird meat, some say it’s human meat…
Some scientists suggested that eagles in the nearby area attacked a large flock of birds and that pieces of meat were seen flying in the air as a result of this attack, but no evidence was found to confirm this scenario.
According to another theory, there was a tornado in Kentucky and these meats could be the remains of people who died and rose into the sky. It doesn’t sound like it’s possible…
Or… algae?
Nostoc, a moss surrounded by a protective gelatinous membrane, is known to swell to a translucent jelly-like consistency when it rains. Some scientists speculate that tan Nostocs also rained down in the incident in Kentucky. This seaweed tasted like frog or chicken legs.
The source of the most accepted theory lies in vultures.
Lung, muscle and cartilage tissue were found in the pieces of meat examined in the laboratory. So how did these tissues turn into meat rain? According to the theory, a flock of vultures passing over the town were vomiting because they ate too much carrion. Vultures, like humans, could be triggered by each other’s vomiting and start vomiting.
It is also known that vultures can vomit as a defense mechanism to make themselves light enough for flight. If this theory is true, woe to the people who eat the carcasses vomited by vultures in order to understand what meat is falling from the sky…
Which of these predictions made the most sense to you? “It’s none of those things. I have another theory.” If you say so, please comment.
