Twitter policies, which have changed completely with the management of Elon Musk, are facing a new crisis. Charged with not paying rent for its offices, including the main office in San Francisco, Twitter was evicted from its Colorado building. The eviction order, issued by the judge, showed that Twitter had not paid the office rent for months.
Twitter doesn’t want to pay rent for any office
A while ago, Twitter changed its office in Colorado to avoid problems with rent payments. However, it was alleged that the social media platform did not fulfill the lease obligations it signed with the office-holding company. Following the legal investigation, Twitter was ordered to evict in 49 days.
The Colorado office housed about 300 people before the Elon Musk administration. However, downsizing in the company also affected this office. Accordingly, 87 employees were fired last year, followed by 38 more employees.
The rents that Twitter does not pay cause uneasiness in many parts of the USA. Some time ago, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was alleged to have said that he would not pay rent “until he died”. In addition, Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, described San Francisco as a “black hole” and reported that such high rents were untrue.
The removal of Twitter from its Colorado office is part of the company’s strategy to cut costs. For example, Elon Musk previously cut the company’s workforce by nearly 90 percent to manage the financial crisis.
On the other hand, Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco launched an interesting auction. According to the statement on the website of the auction house Heritage Global Partners, Musk has decided to sell corporate office items in his Twitter office.
