It was already known that WhatsApp is working on a new multi-account feature for Android users that will allow them to use multiple accounts on the same device. And now this feature may be about to go live.
The feature was first seen in tests for WhatsApp Business beta users last month. Now, some non-work users are reporting that they saw the feature in the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.23.17.8 for Android.
Users with multi-account support access will see an arrow next to the QR code in their WhatsApp settings. Tapping this arrow opens a card showing currently logged in accounts and an option to add another account.
This new feature will give WhatsApp users much more flexibility in managing their personal and work accounts. Users can currently only log in to one WhatsApp account at a time on an Android device.
The multi-account feature is still limited to certain beta testers and is not yet widely available. If you are not already a beta tester for WhatsApp’s Android app, you may have missed your chance to try the latest beta version for now. The beta program on Google Play has reached maximum capacity, so new users cannot sign up to join.
Multi-account support is expected to expand to a wider user base once testing is complete…
