In the past few days, some users have started to report that their Ryzen 7000X3D series processors are malfunctioning. Although the problem was not very common, it was mentioned that the problem was caused by BIOS and overclocking. MSI has released a new BIOS update to prevent this problem.

MSI has released new BIOS for the problem

In the related news we published the other day, we mentioned that both the AM5 socket platform and the processor became unusable due to a problem with Ryzen 7000X3D processors such as Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Although the size of the problem experienced for now is limited to a few people, the seriousness of the problem is high. On the other hand, we also mentioned that Asus motherboards are used in most known cases. Therefore, the idea was accepted that the problem was caused by the BIOS and generally appeared on Asus motherboards. However, there is a possibility that the problem may occur in other motherboard manufacturers as well, because the problem experienced becomes clear after overclocking.
Against this problem, AMD and its card partners quickly stepped in and released a new BIOS. According to the information shared by MSI, new BIOS versions will come with lower voltage options. On the other hand, the CPU does not need to be overclocked to experience the problem. The problem is also revealed as a result of memory overclocking with EXPO profiles. The bad news is that this kind of ‘tuning’ is still considered overclocking, so technically experienced failures may not be covered under warranty.

Motherboard manufacturers have been quick to respond to this issue by either removing the affected BIOSes or issuing new ones. AMD is currently investigating the issue, so we can expect an official statement from them at some point. Meanwhile, Asus has offered the affected user a CPU and motherboard replacement. Additionally, if you have Ryzen 7000X3D series processors, we recommend that you upgrade your BIOS to the latest version. However, we recommend that you do not overclock your system until the official statement about the problem is received.
