MSI leaked 14th Gen Intel processors: Performance increase of only 3 percent!
MSI accidentally shared a video that was recently unlisted on YouTube. This video, which includes product training for the company, also features Intel’s upcoming 14th Gen Core “Raptor Lake Refresh” series processors. The video shared by MSI clearly shows the performance of the next generation Intel processors. At the time of this writing, the video is still live.

MSI leaked new Intel processors

This leak includes a product tutorial video showing MSI’s latest Intel 700 motherboard lineup and upcoming PC cases. While much of the video focuses on the improvements made for these motherboards, it also includes a slide that briefly explains Intel’s next-generation Core series. This slide also sheds light on the performance side while confirming that Intel will not have a major core count upgrade in the 14th Gen Core series.

According to the slide, only one of the upcoming 14th Gen Intel K-series processors will see a change in Performance and Efficiency cores. Accordingly, the Core i7-14700K, which will be released, will update the 8 E-Core (efficiency core) configuration of the Core i7-13700K, which is already on the market, to 12 E-Cores.

Low performance gain

The Core i9-14900K, also confirmed by MSI, will use the same 8P+16E configuration. This also applies to the Core i5-14600K with the 6P+8E configuration. It is worth noting that Intel will only launch the K and KF series next month, while non-K models will launch early next year.

The 14th Gen Core “Raptor Lake Refresh” series will use Intel 7 processing technology and will only support higher DDR5 frequencies. According to MSI, the upcoming series will be on average 3 percent faster than the current generation. The biggest performance increase is experienced in the Core i7-14700K due to the increased cores. This processor will perform 17 percent more in multi-core performance than its predecessor. Although the performance improvement is low, the most important thing will of course be Intel’s pricing. If the new processors come out at the same price, the Core i7-14700K could be positioned in a good place.

As we said above, the video can be removed until this content goes live, if it is not removed, you will see the video right below. In the meantime, let’s also mention that the images we added to the content were taken from the video. Finally, Intel will officially announce the new Raptor Lake Refresh lineup at Innovation 2023 in September.
