The origin of the MSI Afterburner application goes back to the RivaTuner application developed by Russian Alexey Nicolaychuk. After the RivaTuner application, which allows fine-tuning of Nvidia graphics cards, the software known as MSI Afterburner was brought to life. Afterburner was able to show real-time statistics in a separate window as well as tweaks.
Alexey Nicolaychuk, who has been working with MSI since 2009, received a certain payment from MSI for maintaining the software. However, the embargo on Russian banks due to the Russo-Ukrainian war broke things down.
Alexey Nicolaychuk decided to terminate the project, after about 1 year to get his money. Alexey Nicolaychuk, who voluntarily tried to continue the software last year, stated that the company could not find a solution for payment and that it no longer had financial strength. He stated that he would support the project in his spare time, but that he had to quit at the end of the job. Alexey Nicolaychuk will also continue to support the RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS) server plug-in, which provides real-time statistics.
MSI Afterburner was the most popular of the tweaking applications. Another popular app, EVGA Precision X, was also canceled as the company pulled out of the graphics card market. In other words, users are waiting for difficult days in terms of fine tuning. MSI, on the other hand, stated that they are trying to find a solution to the problem.
