TikTok, a short video format, remains one of the most popular social media platforms in the world. The giant platform, which has recently appeared with new features such as ‘Dislike’ and ‘Photo Mode’, was also on the agenda today with the income it received from Syrians begging in live broadcasts.
TikTok has now announced that it will bring a new feature to the platform. In its announcements focused on brands and advertisements, the company stated that with the new feature called ‘Showtimes’, users will be able to buy movie tickets through the application.
Users watching the trailer will have the opportunity to buy tickets
The platform will offer select film studios access to a tool called ‘Showtimes’. With this, users will be able to show trailers, followed by movie showtimes and nearby cinemas and details. In addition, there will be a link to a site that allows purchasing tickets. In this way, users will be able to buy movie tickets for that production after watching a trailer.
TikTok says 52% of its users use the app to learn about a new TV show, movie or actor. It is reported that one fourth of those who see an advertisement or trailer prefer to buy a ticket. The platform states that with its new feature, it wants to make it easier for consumers to buy tickets.
The Showtimes feature is currently available to partner studios in the United States. There is no information about whether it will come to other countries.
Other new features coming to TikTok
TikTok also stated that it has brought several new features to the application. According to this, content producers collaborating with mobile game companies will be able to add iOS and Android links to the games in question to help people download the games. In addition, content producers will be able to pin links to more details about the service or product they showcase in a video in the comments section.
On the other hand, another remarkable feature is the Profile Kit. This will allow users to link their accounts to some third-party apps and showcase their videos there. The first partnership under this initiative is Linktree, which lets you present your social media links in one place. Users will be able to show some TikTok videos on Linktree pages.
