Movie and game rights to Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit go up for auction

The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Rights Sell

According to Variety, The Saul Zaentz Company is selling the game and movie rights of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Based on recent valuations, it is estimated that this sale will bring in $2 billion. Apart from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbt, this deal also includes the rights, albeit limited, to The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales, published after Tolkien’s death.

As you know, Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series will be released on September 2, 2022.
