Motorola introduced the 2022 version of the series to continue its success with Edge (2021). The model, which is expected to be released in the global market, has the Dimensity 1050 chipset on the processor seat. The smartphone holds the title of being the first host of the processor introduced in May.
Produced by TSMC with a 6nm fabrication process, MediaTek Dimensity 1050 has an 8-core structure. It has two ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores running at 2.5GHz. Also, the chipset carries support for mmWave 5G connectivity.
The front of the new Motorola model features a 6.6-inch OLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels Full HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and refresh rate up to 144 Hz. Also, the panel supports 10-bit colors and HDR10+. In addition, the model differs from its predecessor and comes with a sensor under the screen.
Motorola Edge (2022) has a triple camera design on the back. The main player of this design was the 50 megapixel main camera with OIS. The main camera is accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front of the model also has a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The new Motorola model has 6 GB and 8 GB RAM options. It is accompanied by 128GB and 256GB internal storage options. Coming with Android 12-based My UX, the device has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W TurboPower charging and 15W wireless charging. The device will be sold for a limited time at $498. The model is then expected to sell for $599.
