Nielsen, one of the world’s largest research companies, announced the most watched productions on cinema and TV series platforms in 2022. The data covering the USA was created by considering the minutes watched for the content.
Nielsen has published four lists for its data for 2022. The lists consist of original productions, all productions, rights and other films of the platforms.
Netflix dominated three different lists, while Disney+ dominated the movie list
Netflix, which is the most popular digital platform in the world, dominated most of the lists. The platform had 11 of the content in the list of all productions and 13 of the originals.
On the movie side, we see that Disney+ dominates the list with 10 productions. Netflix was able to enter here with 5 movies. No other platform could enter the list of movies other than these two. On the other hand, the list that covers the originals only consists of Netflix and Prime Video, while the general list consists of only Netflix and Disney+.
Netflix’s popular series, which broke records in itself, was at the top of both lists. On the other hand, popular productions Ozark and Wednesday also managed to enter the charts. Another notable part was that NCIS, which came out in 2003, ranked high. On the list of movies, we see that Disney+’s successful animation Encanto is at the top. Let’s take a look at the full lists.
