According to information, Intel’s new generation Panther Lake Socs have finally become working.

Intel 18a made faces laugh

Intel’s documentary section (IFS) was the target of criticism because it could not show the expected performance in the last quarter. In this process, former CEO Pat Gelsinger’s departure and the cancellation of customers due to low efficiency rates put the company in a difficult situation. However, now, according to some leaks, significant progress has been made in the Intel 18a process, and Panther Lake’s memory controllers are now completely functional for I/O and internal connections.

Although the tested example is probably in the A0 step, which is said to be the first test work of CPUs, the fact that 18a is working indicates that targets can be met. As it is known, Intel aims to go to mass production in this process this year.

Although Panther Lake Socs are now working, the real question is to what level the performance is. According to the leak, the Cougar Cove P-Cores used in the processor are described as “average”. This year will be released

Intel’s Panther Lake SOCs, which will be the first representative of the 18A process, are expected to be released in late 2025. According to previous rumors, Intel’s business partners have already begun to test these new generation processors, and positive feedback has been given in general.

The first models, especially in the mobile segment, will be launched with “H” series processors. If the 18A process can offer the expected yield, it may mean a great return for Intel.
