Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that the Xbox 360 Store will close on July 24, 2024. Fortunately, all games purchased by Xbox 360 owners will be playable on console after that date, even if they’ve been deleted, thanks to Microsoft allowing users to re-download games.
While most digital-only Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible with newer Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles, VGC (Video Games Chronicle) has released over 220 titles that aren’t backwards compatible with these consoles, with the Xbox 360 store closing. reports that it is in danger of disappearing forever.
This list includes some games that are somehow available on other gaming platforms and in some cases have updated versions. But there are many in the gaming industry who feel that these Xbox 360 games should be somehow preserved, even if only for historical purposes.

Still, it’s worth reminding once again that Xbox 360 console owners have almost a year to purchase any game on this list, and even if they delete the game after purchase, they can be downloaded again as long as they have a working console.
It may also be possible that Microsoft will add some of these games to the list of backward compatible games for newer Xbox consoles in the future.
