The new Locked Folder feature in Google Photos is now available on more devices. This makes it much easier to keep photos and videos stored on your Android smartphone away from prying eyes. Google’s in-house Pixel phones were the first to use this feature, and now almost six months later it’s finally available on smartphones from other device manufacturers like Samsung, OPPO, and OnePlus.
Although Google Photos acts as a cloud storage service for your photos, it’s worth noting that images moved to Locked Folder will no longer be backed up to the cloud and can only be used on your smartphone. At the same time, if you remove Google photos or clear app data, all items in your Locked Folder are also deleted.
