13th generation Intel processors will be 40 percent faster than their predecessors!
Apple has recently made a very solid entry into the processor market with its M-series chips. Although it has outstripped its competitors on both the CPU and GPU side, there is a fierce competitor like Intel, which has dominated the market for 50 years.
Even with the latest 12th generation i9-12900H processor, Intel managed to outperform Apple’s favorite M1 Max in most tests. But Apple has another strong argument besides performance. Another important criterion is power consumption.
In terms of creating some foreknowledge, it should be noted that processors work better in cold environments with high power supply. For example, when you open a game on the computer you are using, the power consumption of both the processor and the video card can increase up to 3-4 times. In the meantime, it heats up as it draws a high amount of electricity. The fans that we can’t get rid of from our lives come into play at this point.
Apple has managed to keep the power consumption far below its competitors in both the M1 and the M2 processor it introduced last week. In this way, he was able to remove the fans from his devices for good. Therefore, although some competing processors perform better, they achieve this by consuming at least 1.5-2 times more power (4 times compared to the M2 series).
But Intel is preparing to end all these discussions with its 13th generation processors. Because, according to the company’s claim, this new series, which will be introduced, will perform 40 percent better than the current 12th generation chips. Also, the power consumption will be lower. But even if we assume that it will consume higher power compared to the M series, it will surpass it by almost 50 percent in terms of performance.
Of course, Apple also has some plans for the M2 series, which has up to 20 percent lower power consumption compared to the M1. Of course, it is very difficult to implement this year. However, M2 Pro is preparing to give the necessary answer to Intel with its Ultra and Max models.
