When people see things going fast, they have been interested in betting on which one is faster, organizing races since the beginning of history. Today we have something we didn’t have before to satisfy this curiosity: cars.
Of course, not all cars are the same and they all stand out in different conditions. We see that cars that stand out with their acceleration often take part in drag races. Today’s race was between a modified BMW 340i and a standard Nissan GT-R R35.

In the race, which was broadcast on the YouTube channel Sam CarLegion, a modified BMW 340i faced off in a Nissan GT-R R35 drag race. Of these vehicles, the 340i has 500 horsepower and produces 610 Nm of torque. The curb weight of the vehicle, which has a four-wheel drive system, is 1733 kilograms.
Its rival, the Nissan GT-R R35, has been produced since 2018 using a biturbo 3.8-liter V6 engine producing 571 horsepower and 533 Nm of torque. Although it is stronger in terms of notor, the curb weight of the vehicle is more than its rival, exactly 1776 kilograms.
At this point, it seemed that the outcome of the match would be determined by whether the extra engine power of the Nissan GT-R R35 could offset the slowdown caused by its 43 kilograms of extra weight. In the video, it was seen that the race was too one-sided.
Of course, the skills and timing of the drivers are of great importance in drag racing, but a driving error that would make such a big difference is not included in the video. This suggests that the BMW 340i is actually capable of producing more than 500 horsepower, or that its engine’s fuel intake has been increased so that it can accelerate faster.
